How do we encourage and support growth in the whole child?

Socially: Staff will set up the classroom environment to help children feel comfortable in school, trust their teachers, make friends, and feel they are a part of the group. Children will be encouraged to work out social issues with their peers, with teacher support.

Emotionally: To help children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control, and have a positive attitude toward life. Staff will provide children with language naming emotions and provide the opportunity for them to use and understand them in the early childhood setting.

Cognitively: To help children become learners by letting them try out their ideas and experience success and by assisting them to learn to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe their thoughts, observations, and feelings.

Physically: To help children increase their large muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do. Provide opportunities and activities that build the small muscles needed for building, stacking, and pre-writing.

Our goal is to provide high-quality educational services for all children, including children with disabilities and families that are dual language learners.

These services include but not limited to:

  • Assess each child's development, providing information to the parents along with goals

  • Using a researched based curriculum that follows each individual child’s development. Lesson plans and activities will focus on how each child learns, and their interest. The philosophy is that if a child is interested in the environment and activities, any skill can be embedded into those activities.

  • Ensuring that activities prepared for your child are engaging and challenging.

  • Building relationships with the family and child based on trust and respect.

  • Providing opportunities for children to problem solve.

  • Letting children learn through play and have fun.
