Health and Nutrition
Your child's health and nutrition is the base of their educational success. A child that is healthy and has their basic needs met is ready to learn!
Our program partners with the family and providers to ensure resources are available to meet your child's needs. Head Start screens all children early, like hearing and vision, to ensure your child's development is on track. Nutrition is important to your child's growth and development. Head Start assists to help your child meet their daily nutritional needs by providing meals that are approved by the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP). The meals include all of the food groups and are the correct portions for your child. Nutrition education is provided to your child during meals and in the classroom as part of their normal school day.
Health and Nutrition is an important component of your child's experience at Head Start and a key factor for their health, happiness and success!
