Empowering Families

Our goal is to empower families to help parents fortify family strengths in an effort

to promote child and family well-being, stability, and self-sufficiency.

Family Advocates work with families to establish goals to promote family well-being, positive parent-child relationships, families as lifelong educators, families as learners, family engagement in transitions, family connections to peers and community, and families as advocates and leaders.

Family Services provides support for parents to be more effective in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher. The purpose of Family Services and Parent Involvement is to ensure that parents feel confident and capable of supporting their child's development and school readiness.

Some of the many ways families can be involved at Head Start in their

child's education and preparation for Kindergarten are:

  •     Family Fun Nights

  •     Parent Meetings/Workshops

  •     Policy Council Representation

  •     Parent/Teacher Conferences

  •     Home Visits by teachers and Family Advocates

  •     Opportunities Volunteer in the Classroom
